SYLHET, Bangladesh (AP) -- At least 13 devotees have been killed by lightning outside a mosque in northeastern Bangladesh.

Local police chief Bayes Ahmed says 20 other people were injured by the lightning late Friday in Sylhet district. The victims were struck by the lightning as they were exiting the mosque following special prayers tied to the holy month of Ramadan.

Ahmed said Saturday that some of those who were killed died at the scene, while others died on the way to the hospital. He said the imam who led the prayers was among the dead.

The fasting month of Ramadan is being observed across Bangladesh, a Muslim-majority nation.

Sylhet district is 192 kilometers (120 miles) northeast of the capital, Dhaka.

Well, I watched Prometheus today.  Ridley Scott didn't fail in delivering a spectacular movie that dealt with the origins of man, and life in the universe, as well as a few horrors on the way.

ANYWAY...  This isn't a review, and no spoilers - just go see it.  I recommend it heartily ! :)

Instead, I thought I'd just post some stuff about the latest discoveries about planets in other star systems, and the probability of finding worlds much like ours orbiting their host stars in the 'Goldilocks Zone' - that orbital area around a star where a planet is can sustain H2O in a liquid form due to not being too cold, or too hot.  And where there's liquid water, life will certainly flourish - even if it is in microbial form.

Here's the results as of February on discovered planets beyond our own solar system...

The Kepler Science Team has found 1,790 host stars with a total of 2,321 planet candidates as of 2012 Feb 27, up from the 1,235 planet candidates announced 2011 February 1. Some candidates may not be planets—false positives that look like transiting planets, but are not. Many scientists are doing follow-up observing with ground-based telescopes to confirm discoveries. Confirmed planets are announced as discoveries.

Anyway - this is to say that the latest statistics from this research indicate that our galaxy - the Milky Way, may be host to more than a million Earth-like planets, and well over a billion planets in general.

Recently, Shaolin Temple - the Mecca for Kung Fu in China - established a training base to combine Kung Fu and football together. 40 young monks were selected and are being taught the beautiful game by several retired Chinese football players.
One coach commented: "They have superb physical qualities and they are learning things very quickly".

Head of training Shi Yanlu added: "Kung Fu has a lot of similarities with football.
"Right now China's football performance is really disappointing. We hope by combining Kung Fu elements and spirit Chinese football can perform better."

Yanlu said the temple has 2,000 young monks and once the first 40 have been trained they plan to select another batch of football-crazy monks.
